This house, built in the early 20th century by the Shawinigan Water & Power Company, is located in one of the first planned industrial city of Canada. In its early vocation, the house was used as the first english high school of Shawinigan.

When the new high school was built, the SW&P Co. used it for housing some directors of the company. Later on, it was sold to private interests and, eventually, was transformed in a confortable bed & breakfast.

Enjoy the calm and serenity that this house can offer you. At a walking distance from the restaurants, la Cité de l’énergie and numerous other activities, la Maison sous les arbres and its hosts, Catherine et Jacques, will be happy to meet you.

My husband and I spent one night at this warm and cozy B&B on October 3rd 2015. We stayed at the romantic bedroom which was confortable, well decorated and quiet. We shared a bathroom with other 2 guests, but this was not a problem at all as everything was very clean and well maintened (soap and shampoo included). The breakfast was a feast. Orange juice as a starter. Then we had a Banana/Kiwi perfect yogurt followed by delicious pancakes with fresh fruits and a cup of coffee made specially to please your personal taste. Last, but not least, a dessert of baked pears with ginger sauce – an absolute pleasure for the senses. The owners Catherine and Jacques are welcoming and very friendly hosts and we will absolutely come back this winter and a rest point while exploring the Mauricie National Park (which is only 25 minutes away) Carla Mota, from Montreal

FFantastic place to stay a few days! Breakfast the best we ever had in a B&B. Like a cosy home, very helpful Hosts gave us a warm welcome. Martin, from St. Gallen, Switzerland
